School

The closer it gets to Brooklyn starting school, the more my heart breaks.  Every time she talks about it I get a little more sad.  I shouldn't be.  I know I should be excited for her.  I absolutely don't want to turn her over to school!  I keep asking if she wants to stay with me forever,  She always replies with a loud, NO WAY!!  I guess I am more sad then I thought I would be because Sophia might also be going to head start.  I am not sure yet.  I called again today to find out if there has been any progress on her application.  I wasn't told she was accepted because nothing has been finalized but I was told I should go ahead and schedule her for her shots.  I'm not going to do that until I have the for sure, she's accepted.  I know both girls will do excellent.  Brooklyn has even decided she wants to learn cursive writing already.  I wrote her name in the middle, the top and bottom name she wrote.  She has been practicing every day different words and names.  She really is going to excel in whatever she does!  This paper she was working on when we were waiting for her school evaluation.  She showed the teacher and she kept it for Brooklyn's file!  I was a little bummed because I wanted to keep it.  I love these girls and am so proud of how they are growing up.

Thursday is the big day!  I am so glad I will be semi busy that day.  It's going to drag

Playing around

 Brooklyn has decided that her baby doll is now her baby sister.  It come very where with us including church most Sundays.  She had decided All three girls needed some matching dresses so this is what I came up with.  Brooklyn was satisfied.  Now every other day I have requests for more matching dresses!

 I watched Natalie and Michelle one day.  The girls were having a blast making faces for the camera.

This weeks wedding cakes

I really loved how this weeks wedding and grooms cakes turned out.  The wedding cake was a medium ivory when I put the fondant on.  the next morning it was a darker shade!  I promise it's not as dark as the pictures!  It was in a dim corner of the room.  That band also isn't black!  It's a dark dark purple color.  I was even able to match the color swatch perfect.  Hopefully the bride loved it as much as me!

TapouT XT

Trent and I have started a new workout program called Tapout XT.  It is a high intensity mixed martial arts workout!  We are into week three and are still loving it.  I am so excited to see our 90 day results!  I know in just two weeks I have lost 1 inch of my waist!  We are following their nutritional guide but doing mainly recipes I find that fit the criteria.  The girls have adjusted to this way of eating easily as well so I think for the most part we are all happy when the supper bell rings.  Tonight I am making shrimp and pea pasta.  I am not going to post any pictures or weigh in till the end of the program.  When we get the the end we plan on starting it all over again!

Happy 4th of July and Pioneer day!

For the 4th this year I had planned a potluck/ bake off/ ice cream making activity for church.  I was a little worried how it would turn out but I thought everything went great.  There was a ton of food and desserts!  The activity was making ziplock bag ice cream.  The kids and some adults really enjoyed watching the milk turn into ice cream.  The best part is the ice cream is just sooo good (and my oreo truffles won the bake off)!

We have been so busy this summer that I have lost track of what has been going on. I took the girls to the movies to see Yogi Bear.  I had wanted to try Sissy out and see how she would behave at a theater. It was part of the rave free movies I figured if she was not behaving and I had to leave I wouldn't be out any money.  She passed that test!  The weekend after we took the girls to see the new movie Brave.  I think it is my new favorite princess movie.  The girls were so well behaved that we will probably try to catch another early bird movie and see Ice Age this weekend or next!

We have also gone to the sprinkler park, lunch dates with Trent, play dates with our new friends, spent more  hours then I can count in their pool, Explored more of Baton Rouge, and so much more I can't even remember without looking at my calender!

Now my next few weeks are so busy I literally planned each day.  I'll fill you in on last week till the 20th!  Last week I raked up all the mulch in our landscaping.  This weekend we set up our pipe under our sidewalk for our new irrigation system.  Monday morning Mrs. Murl and I started to put out the piping.  After long hours of work, and some set backs, we finished about 5p.m!  Tuesday morning I went to put the drippers in and it started raining.  I came in and started baking for a wedding cake, grooms cake, and birthday cake all for this weekend.  Around 11 a friend came over with her beautiful baby and we sewed for hours.  A quick trip to WM and supper then to church for a sewing class I was in charge of.  I am already planning our next sewing night for September!  We got home and the girls in bed around 9.  Then Trent and I still had to work out!
Today I finish baking and all the long list of things that go along with doing all these cakes!  Tomorrow I decorate, Friday I deliver and go to the temple.  Saturday I  pass out and Sunday is my bro-in-laws birthday party!
Next week is a wedding cake, grooms cakes, and baby shower cake!  Plus making rompers and a shirt for Princess Aubree's 1st birthday!!!!!

Porkchops

Pork chops are not a meat we eat in our house very often (maybe only like three or four times ever)!  Yesterday I wanted to make them and had no idea what to do except put them on the grill.  I was texting K. Fowler and asked her what to do (she always has all the answers).  She said her mom would cook them in the skillet with a can of cream of mushroom soup on top and some seasonings.  I cooked them just as she said and they were delicious!  The chops were nice and tender and the soup made a nice gravy to go on top of rice.  It was a simple meal with few ingredients, inexpensive and very very yummy!  We will be eating it again! 

Audubon Zoo

Tuesday we took the girls to the Audubon Zoo.  Trent and the girls had never been there before and it had been awhile for me.  It was awesome!  There is a "cool zoo", which is a water area, and a neat dinosaur area.  There are probably 3 times as many animals as in B.R.  We plan on going back before school starts.  Next time we plan on doing everything!  We all loved it so much we might not go back to the B.R. Zoo and continue to go back to Audubon Zoo.

Monday May 21st

On the Monday of Trent's vacation we took the girls to Forest park to play in the water.  We came to this park often last year but it was Trent's first time to come with us.  It is a really nice, clean area and everyone is always so friendly.  The girls love coming and playing in the sprinklers, they also have a pretty awesome climbing area. 

May 19th

 After Brooklyn's graduation we went to my parents for the weekend.  On Saturday we went to my Grandma's 80th birthday party and a wedding reception.  The above picture is a group of us (Katie, me, Jake, Aunt Jane, and Jess)  All of us our using the program Lose It! on our phones to try to help us loose weight.  Justin signed up for it after the weekend.  Every time we get together we are going to take a picture together to have photo evidence of our journey together.  Next time though we will take a picture at the beginning!  This was at the end of a very long day!

 Brooklyn was a little shy of Gabe at first.  Once she learned that he was also five that broke the barrier.  She now says she loved playing with him and can't wait to do it again!  I love how Sissy and Gabe are in the same pose, that wasn't planned either!

 The kids all got together to sing to grandma.  By the look on her face she loved it.  By kids I mean all of the great grandkids!  There was a crowd of them!

Luke and Missy got married in Hawaii.  There reception here was Hawaii themed complete with casual dress (which I loved)  We all had a great time at the reception!  I haven't had that much fun in forever!  I am really looking forward to the next family get together.
