my poor baby

My little baby fell off the ladder of the slide last night and landed on her left shoulder.  She cried and cried but soon calmed down.  She wouldn't move her arm up without complaint.  Well she went to bed without any more fuss so we didn't think anything else of it.  Until this morning.  When I went to get her out of bed so freaked out and started holding her arm crying.  I took her to her dr, who sent us for an xray.  Now we have been waiting almost 4 hours to hear back from someone about her xray.  If her dr's office doesnt call me back by 2:30 I am calling them AGAIN.  They are really the worst about calling and doing what they said they will when they say they'll do it.  I'll post more later when we hear more.  Until then Sophia is walking around just using one arm and crying, alot.

I thought my head was going to explode

Today I have a headache.  Not a small one but when I was out this morning I thought I was going to pass out from every noise sounding like It was an explosion.  I had to take Sophia to get her shots today.  Oh wait, that didn't happen.  She has fluid on her ears and is congested so we have to come back in 10 day to try again.  Anyways we finally get home.  The girls are fighting the lights are killing me and I heard a boom boom boom  knock on the door.  I open it and find this:
What could it be?!  We were all very excited to see these:
I had won a blog give away and these are the shoes Jessie picked for Brooklyn.  She was very excited to get a new pair of "dancing: shoes.
That is how she does a thumbs up.  She'll get it right one day.  So by this point I think I am going to pass out from my headache so I make the girls go out to play.  I took some pics, y'all enjoy.

you shouldnt break the sabbath

I know I know you're not supposed to do things on Sunday.  But when Trent said he wanted to eat at cracker barrel I was on board.  I had the worst experience there that I have ever had.  Our waitress wasn't nice at all, very stiff.  We didn't get our before meal biscuts (I finally asked her for them and she STILL didn't bring them).  When we FINALLY got our food mine and the girls were cold.  Have you ever eaten cold eggs and grits? YUCKY!  The girls food was all cold too.  They didnt seem to mind as much.  I would have said some thing to our waitress but she never came to check on us or anything.  Trent's food was nice and hot.  Not fair.  I guess that's what I get fr going out to eat on  Sunday.  I won't be making that mistake again.

Now when we got home I was able to bring the girls outside to enjoy the weather.  The fence is 98% finished.  We just need locks and the such so They can now play with out me having to watch their every move.  The weather is nice.  The kids are laughing and having a good time.

In two days I made seven dresses for Lilah.  I'll post pictures of everything tomorrow of tuesday.

our fence

In the blue shirt is Mr. Kenny.  I didnt hear the other persons name.  They are working on our fence today.  Last night Mrs. Murl called to tell us they were coming over to do some work.  Since it is going to be raining this weekend they thought it would be a good idea to hire some one to do some of the work for us so it doesnt become a career project for Mr. Cliff and Trent (and the others that have been helping.)

I just got done with my two cakes from this weekend.  Go to www.jeniscakes.blogspot.com to check them out!  Now to make the 7 dresses Laura ordered!

shirring

Today I learned how to shirr-sew with elastic.  It's such an easier way to get a smocked look without actually smocking.  Perfect for play dresses.  Brooklyn loves this one and I think the fabric flower makes the look.  Now Brooklyn is asking me to make Sophia one too.  I guess I just have to get used the girlie girl Brooklyn has become.

Just to smart

So I went and got the table and chairs for our outside area today.  It was cloudy when I started putting them together so I did it in the garage.  When I was done I has to figure out how to get it into my back yard.  This is what I came up with.  Moving it like this was even easier then if someone had been here to help me!

So I love being outside under the covering now!  The girls were very excited to try the new stuff out.  BBQ's here I come.

saturday

Saturday we were all very busy.  We had ordered the stuff to get busy on our fence.  While they worked on that I went to Home Depot and bought this covering.  I put it together all by myself (I did need help to lift the top on though).  I am going to clean up under it and put together the furniture.  I cant wait for the finished look.
Here are a few pics of the post they set.  It was Trent, mr. Cliff, and the missionaries working on it.  I was surprised that the missionaries were as much help as they were.  Not knocking them but they are kinda small guys, they were a big help.  Trent and his dad worked so hard.  I definitely don't think they will be quitting their desk jobs any time soon!  I think Mrs. Murl had the big job of all.  She wrangled the kids all day!

I'm playing with a baby bumble bee

I tried a mock photo shoot in front of our beautiful bushes.  Didn't go as well as I had hoped.  But I did get one or two good shots.

Grandma would be proud!

So one of my favorite memories of my grandma is going to her house for lunch in high school and fresh biscuits sitting on her oven for me.  I wasn't really close to her but that always made me feel special.  And let me tell you they are the best ever!  (my dads come in a close second).  Anyways for years I have tried to find a recipe that would be close or the same as grandma's.  I think I have done that!  I made these this morning and they were YUMMY.  Another fond memories of biscuits.  My dad would make them and we would poke a hole with our finger in the middle.  Then pour home made syurp in them and enjoyed.  I love spending that kind of time with my dad.  I will be making these again.  Kristen asked for the recipe so here it is. :Step 1. Stir together 2 cups flour, 2.5 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon salt.
2. Cut in with knife until it looks like coarse "meal" 1/4 cup shortening.
3.  Stir in 3/4 cups milk
4.  Round up on lightly floured board.  Knead lightly.
5.  Roll out about 1/2 inch think.  Cut with floured biscuit cutter.  Place on ungreased baking sheet.
6.  Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 450.  makes about 20

So next time I make these I am going to cut them out a little thicker and I took them out of the over after 7 minutes so check them as they cook.  I don't think it will take the whole time or they'll burn.  It also only make 10 not 20 biscuits.  From start to finish was about 20 min and that included baking and cleaning up after.

Refurbished dress

This is the before.  It is one of my favorite shirts, but sadly when washed it shrank to short to wear.  I blog hop on craft blogs and have seen a lot of adult clothes turned into kids dresses.  I jumped at the chance to try it out or myself.
Here is the after.  Isn't Sissy just a doll?  I even got the lace for free!

Sunday

Today at church they were talking about after your trials the blessings you receive.  I kinda feel that we are given blessing to prepare us for our trials.  Like extra money then a month later needing something for your car, etc....  At least that seems to be mine and Trent's case.

thats how it usually is.

This morning Brooklyn woke up at 5.  About 5:45 she falls back asleep.  Yay right?  Wrong.  At 6 Sophia wakes up so here we are.  I can't wait to go to the birthday party so Sophia will nap.

Good news on the belly front.  My waist is still 34 inches!  My goal is for my waist to be 33 inches by summer (like July summerish).  So since January I have lost 1 inch.  Not to shabby I think.

If  you read my blog leave a comment.  I am curious how many people actually care what I have to say.

Caroline's cake

It's funny.  I know I was taught well and I have the ability to do cakes well.  When I finish a cake I still step back and say "wow did I do that?!'  I LOVE this cake!

Easter Egg Hunt

Isn't that the cutest butt ever?

Today Rachel and I hosted an Easter egg hunt at the park.  I was slightly worried we wouldn't have a good turn out because it was VERY last minute.  With all the kids and moms counted there was 34 there!  We had a craft, egg hunt, then a picnic lunch.  Rachel and I provided drinks and cupcakes too!  It was so much fun.  next year we might try to do it again, well with alittle more planning.

When we got home Sophia laid down for her nap.  When I got her up I realized along with her eggs she had snuck some candy in the crib too!  A quick bath and some baby wipes on the crib and we're good as new.  I did have to run and get the camera first!
