A fund raiser

I normally hate fund raisers.  I mean I pretend I am not  home when the neighbor kids come around, hate them.  This year is different.  Brooklyn's school is a new school.  It has only been open three or four years.  There is a lot of things that the school still needs that these fund raisers are going to help buy.  This particular one is for computers and other learning materials for the kids such as BOOKS for the library.  If you are interested please help our school buy purchasing a tumbler ($12) or water bottle ($8).  Everything has to be pre-paid and in by September 5th.  Contact me if you are interested.  I will gladly mail them to you!

Brooklyn's first day of school

When Brooklyn got into the car I asked her how her first day went.  "Good", is how she replied!  I started asking non yes or no questions and didn't get much out of her.  Her teachers name is Mrs. Davenport.  Natalie Unck is in her class.  They read a story about racoons, and went on a "hunt" around school.  On that "hunt" she saw Tyler Unck and Mrs. Samantha her speech teacher.  I made cupcakes the day before and brought them up there.  Well when I was frosting them she asked why did I frost them all when I KNOW she doesn't like frosting!  I told her she could just take the frosting off in the afternoon.  She made sure to tell me her teacher was nice enough to take the frosting off her cupcake!  When we got home she told me she was alittle sad.  I asked her why and she replied "because my teacher didn't teach me to read today!"  I explained it took more than one day to learn to read.  I guess I better get busy with her site words!

On another note I called heard start again today and should know today or tomorrow if Sissy is accepted.  Hopefully today!

it's a remake

A friend of mine found this pillow case for (I think) $.25!  She brought it to me thinking I could use it.  I immediately thought of doing a skirt and matching head  piece.  Sophia didn't really want to model for me so I didn't get many good pictures.  The skirt is actually pleated and the head piece is a really cute flower.  Thank you friend for thinking of me and the girls!  I can't wait to remake a sock monkey pillowcase into something!

Kindergarten!

Her sign says "First day of Kindergarten. 8/16/12. When I grow up I want to be a mom!"
I thought I would be a mess this morning!  I wasn't, no tears for me or Brooklyn.  When I dropped her off she seemed a little intimidated but they had some of the older kids helping with carpool and taking the younger ones to their class.  B took off her name tag at some point this morning so we had to wait around to tell the helper what class to take her too.  Besides that everything went perfectly.  I know she is going to have a wonderful day.  Her friend from church Natalie is in her class so I know that will help her feel more comfortable and adjust quicker.  She is growing so fast.  She is such a kind, smart, loving girl.  I can't wait to pick her up and hear all about her day!

School

The closer it gets to Brooklyn starting school, the more my heart breaks.  Every time she talks about it I get a little more sad.  I shouldn't be.  I know I should be excited for her.  I absolutely don't want to turn her over to school!  I keep asking if she wants to stay with me forever,  She always replies with a loud, NO WAY!!  I guess I am more sad then I thought I would be because Sophia might also be going to head start.  I am not sure yet.  I called again today to find out if there has been any progress on her application.  I wasn't told she was accepted because nothing has been finalized but I was told I should go ahead and schedule her for her shots.  I'm not going to do that until I have the for sure, she's accepted.  I know both girls will do excellent.  Brooklyn has even decided she wants to learn cursive writing already.  I wrote her name in the middle, the top and bottom name she wrote.  She has been practicing every day different words and names.  She really is going to excel in whatever she does!  This paper she was working on when we were waiting for her school evaluation.  She showed the teacher and she kept it for Brooklyn's file!  I was a little bummed because I wanted to keep it.  I love these girls and am so proud of how they are growing up.

Thursday is the big day!  I am so glad I will be semi busy that day.  It's going to drag

Playing around

Brooklyn has decided that her baby doll is now her baby sister.  It come very where with us including church most Sundays.  She had decided All three girls needed some matching dresses so this is what I came up with.  Brooklyn was satisfied.  Now every other day I have requests for more matching dresses!
I watched Natalie and Michelle one day.  The girls were having a blast making faces for the camera.
