HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME

Thanks health care system for not letting me take my child to the dr. Yesterday I had called Sophia's new peditrition (long story) to see if she could be seen. The nurse said since she was a new patient she couldn't be seen till next week. I kindly said that won't do i'll just tak her to the after hours clinic. We arrive at the after hours clinic right at three. The nurse checking us in said that since we have medicade they can only see Sophia with a dr.s referral. It has to be the dr medicade has assisigned. I called the new dr's office and the nurse tells me they might not be able to send a referral since they have never seen Sophia before, but she would check. So I am put on hold then the phone cuts off. I tried calling back for 30 minutes, no answer just an answering machine. (remember we're still at the after hours clinic). I was so PISSED OFF we left, Sophia never beeing seen by anyone. So she is still congested, still has a light rash ALL over her body an no where to take her. Hardly seems right to me. I wonder if I had been any other race would that have happened? I'm not being racist, just a thought.

puppet show and cake

This past thursday we went to a puppet show and family story time at the library. They did something about bugs and in between they did the limbo. That's where the pictures are from. Josh's cake is done and delivered. Phew! It is so pretty. Check out my cake blog in a few days for pictures of it. The pics were taken by my moms camera so it will take me a few days to get them from her. Mrs. Jane LOVED it. I am so glad, a success, nothing less from me and momma :)

today i woke up and cleaned, then did laundry then baked six layers of joshs wedding cake, then baked cookies, then cleaned more, then made frosting, then cooked supper, then went to a puppet show at the library, then made four batches of fondant, then cleaned more. i am tired.

tonight sophia walked from me to the couch, twice! i was only about three feet away but i am excited.

my mom is the greatest in the world. she got me a cake leveler for my birthday. i have been looking at these online quietly wanting one really badly. she somehow knew exactly what to get AND the week before my first wedding cake too. i mean awesomeness just pours from her every knook and cranny. thank you momma, I LOVE YOU.

six weeks

It has been six weeks since Trent was laid off. We never thought it would be this long. We have certainly learned a lot in the past weeks, like never say "things couldn't get worse." They can and when you say that something else is going to go wrong. From cars breaking to the air conditioner in your house, to everything else in between. Now there has been alot of people who have helped us and helped to make things eaiser. We were able to get LaChips eaisly, wic with no problem, and even food stamps painlessly. Now we are still trying for unemployment but the government messed up on that one. To end I would like to also say thank you to all of those who have helped us. And to those who have ordered a cake, or had me do some sewing for them. Every little bit helps.
