Today I got a call from Juban park elementary school about Sophia starting speech. She will start on Friday. She was only evaluated in January 17th! The reason i say that it was quick getting this phone call is because the evaluators have 90 days to contact the school, the school has 30 days to contact me. With Brooklyn they took every day they had and then some! I am really happy she is starting so soon and not having to wait until next school year. They are going to be working on articulation and fluency. She is really excited too! These kiddos are just growing up way to fast!

Sweet and Sour meatballs

So I keep this one random cookbook out so I can have one recpie in it. I finally took time today to type it out so it can go into MY put together cookbook. I thought I would share it with you. It is one of Mrs. Murl's.

Murl’s Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Meatballs (makes about 24):

1 lb ground meat or ground turkey ½ cup bread crumbs 1 egg ¼ cup milk season to taste

Sauce:

½ cup chopped onion

¼ tsp pepper ½ cup catsup 6 tablespoons vinegar 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 cup water

Combine all ingredients for meat balls. Make into 1 inch balls and cook thoroughly in oven or skillet. Drain grease. Combine all ingredients for sauce and bring to boil. Add meatballs and simmer on low for at least 1 hour. Serve with mashed potatoes or rice. Enjoy!

Sissy's first dentist appointment

Sissy was so excited to get to go to the dentist today. She watched very closely as I got my teeth cleaned, but when it was her turn that was another story. She got in the seat and at first pretended we weren't there. Then she pretended to be asleep! Finally we got her to open her mouth enough to have her teeth brushed and flossed. By the time our dr came in she was , for the most part, fully cooperating. She was so excited to leave with a little bag of treats and a new buzz light year toothbrush. Her and Brooklyn both get to be on the no cavities club sign for the week! She has brushed her teeth three times this afternoon because she was so proud of herself. Lets hope she keeps this enthusiasm up!

So with the new year everyone starts to think about what they are going to be doing different. I don't make resolutions but I do have a list of projects to start and finish. One major project will be new floors in the house! Done by Trent and myself. I think we might also repaint the living/ dining/ kitchen area. Not sure what color. I am very excited to get back on track with our schedules and start transforming our house. Maybe myself along the way.

Sophia's first day of primary

Can you believe Sophia is old enough for primary?! She was so excited and went right in and sat down. Her teachers said she did wonderful listening and staying in her seat. When we picked her up from her class she proudly announced she learned about baby Jesus and camels! A new chapter of her life is beginning. I am a little sad she is no longer a baby, but very blessed to be apart of this new adventure for her.

Brooklyn's first field trip

Brooklyn had her first field trip on the 15th. She got to ride the bus and loved every minute of it! She wants to ride the bus in kindergarten. I'm thinking car pool. They went to the Walker post office and sang carols and mailed themselves Christmas cards. They loaded up and went to a really nice retirement home and sang them the same three carols. All of the children were very well behaved which was kind of a shocker because their was about 55, 3 to 5 year olds. I have to admit I am really excited for the next field trip. They are going to go to the strawberry patch! I will be chaperoning that one too!

Mad enough to cry

Seriously last night I was mad enough to cry. Wednesday afternoon around 2 I was asked by a frantic person to help with this thing THURSDAY night. O.k. person calm down, what do y'all have, what do you need? I was asked to make baked beans, a cake, and some vases as thank yous. I also said I can help but my kids will be with me. The person said that was fine. Easy peasy right? So I come home with Brooklyn STILL not feeling well and get to work. I baked and brown hamburger and etch glass not getting any kind of break from my already busy Wednesday. Thursday I make frosting, finish cake, decide to make a pie and some cookies too. When I go to Brooklyn's school to pick her up her teacher tells me that shes not feeling good and during recess she LAID DOWN ON THE GROUND AND FELL ASLEEP. Um, why did no one CALL ME! She hasn't been feeling well off and on since Saturday night. I called her Dr, who wasn't in so we had to see a different dr. It's 2, I get an appointment for 2:20. After a short wait we see the Dr. She had a 103 fever (and weighs 50lbs)! Diagnosis is a sever throat infection. Yay for antibiotics. We then run to Wal-mart to get that filled, we are home by 4. By 5:15 we are leaving to go to the thing I said I would help with, food and sick kid (and a healthy one) in tow. I drive 30 minutes to get to this thing (did I mention Trent was supposed to be going to it too, it was a mens thing). Get there, unload, start to settle in. Someone comes to me and tells me when it starts I will have to make other arrangements for the kids because they have been telling the MEN they can't bring kids! WTF. I just busted my butt to get all this ready and be up here on time. Oh by the way can you leave your camera? Yeah sure but don't touch it till Trent gets there. We don't like people using our camera really. Trent can't find the place and is mad about that so he is saying he is just going to come home. He finds it, goes in and instead of staying gets our camera, signs in and leaves. He's home by 7:30. I was so mad last night that, maybe because of very little sleep every night, I could have cried anytime I thought about it. I am okay with it now. I get wanting to be fair to everyone. If they had said no kids I would have said no I can't help and would not have spent almost $40 bucks between supplies and gas! It was just really frustrating for me and Trent both. Lesson learned.

I'm way past on blogging. I have been super busy with the church Christmas projects. Now that the r.s. party is over and went very very well, I can focus on the church party! The r.s. one was the 3rd. I didn't take any pictures and the ward one is on the 10th. It's weird this year because there is no official committee I have not been able to get people to help. A little frustrating but I think it will be nice all the same. And a big thank you to all the people who are helping! On top of everything Brooklyn was really sick this past Saturday night and now Sophia won't sleep! I am one tired momma. Not to tired to go see my GREAT NIECE today! She was born yesterday and with Brooklyn not feeling well we stayed home. Boo! See you soon Emery!

Rochelle's Baby Shower

A couple of hours after Brooklyn's birthday party we had Rochelle's baby shower. I changed out some decorations and cleaned up real fast. As I was going to put some things in the oven our power went out! It stayed off till half way through the shower! Luckily it was a nice breezy day and we could open the windows and stay cool. We later heard there was a really bad wreck and one of the cars had hit a power line. I think the shower went great. We had a good number of people come and Rochelle got a TON of loot! While she was opening her presents Sissy laid down in the middle of everything and fell asleep on the floor!
As baby shower people were leaving some friends were showing up to eat supper and watch the game. I can't believe I stayed awake the whole game but I managed. I did take all of Sunday off from cleaning house and have been super busy doing that all morning. I have even straighten up the garage and gotten some things better organized in the attic! Noe for lunch and finish vacuuming the girls bedrooms.

Brooklyn's Party

We celebrated Brooklyn's 5th birthday this past weekend. She wanted a princess party, so she got one. Complete with a very "royal" (her words) cake she designed herself. She loved it. She such a sweet kid. She doesn't even mind when Sissy is right there helping her open presents. She is the best big sister! I can't believe shes been in our lives for only five years! It seems she has been with us forever. (I guess she has when you look at if from a church point of view!) Words can't describe how much I love her and sissy. Happy birthday Brooklyn, I hope you had a blast!

OnLine ordering

I hate shopping online. Trent likes to. I order some things today on walmart.com for in store pick up. Then I got an email back saying they didn't have two of the things and those things were canceled. I reordered them and am having them sent to the my MIL house. Now hours later I get another email saying that the first doll house I ordered will be available for in store pick up next week again!!!! WHAT!. I tried to cancel my second order. It's a no go. So now I have two doll houses coming! As soon as the in store one get in i guess It will just have to be returned. I am super frustrated with this. I think I'll just stick to going to the stores from now on.

Why is it that a barley three year old who wakes up at 6 a.m. and doesn't nap ALL day fights bed time? Did I forget to mention she has had a dose of melatonin an hour ago? We aren't trying to put her to bed at five either. It's usually between 7:30 and 8. Tonight shes been in and out for 1.5 hours. Lots of GO TO BED NOW, lights on, GET IN YOUR BED SIS!, things of that nature. Even a spanking and locking the door. I am tired.

Last Saturday, October 15th, Trent and I celebrated 6 years! It's amazing to think back and see how much we have grown and changed in that amount of time. To celebrate we went to Ruth Chris's steak house. I was not impressed with their food at all. I'm so glad we had a gift card! Trent liked what he got but my steak was WAY to salty. I think if we are going to spend a small fortune on a meal we'll stick with Texas de Brazil. We did enjoy just some us time. Nice and quiet. Happy Anniversary Trent!

Meet Diamond. This is my mom's new puppy we got to help her pick out yesterday. Brooklyn is calling her Diamond. I'm thinking momma might change it! She is a miniature Eskimo. She's super sweet and didn't mind the girls holding her and bouncing her a few times! She should stay a little lap dog perfect to cuddle with. Maybe one day Trent will change his mind about animals and we'll get something as sweet and cute!

We all have disappointments in life. I get that. But sometimes it really does stink when such a good idea doesn't work out. The farmer market in denham springs is going to be a no go for me. I was really excited and even did some sewing for it. Good thing I didn't go crazy with that! I just get a kind of bad feeling when ever I talk to the guy in charge so I'm going with my gut and not reapplying. I guess it's on to the next keep me busy project/money making scheme. Tonight I was elected Parent Committee President and the Nutritional Rep for Brooklyn's school. I was running against this girl who has been involved with the head start program for a few years now and was completely shocked when my named was announced as president! I am really excited and think I will do a good job filling both positions. I'll just throw that into the hat along with everything else going on. Now that I have decided to start doing the farmers market I have been super busy sewing. I need to pause on all of that so I can get baby Aubree's blessing gown made. She'll be blessed in 1 week! I have a time line written out on what t get finished on what day so I'll be able to get it all done and have my sanity. I love my busy life. I am sure Trent will be glad when I have some product to sell so we don;t have to push my sewing stuff out of the way on the table to eat supper!!! I surely won't be complaining when I make some money!

The Omen

You know the scene from the movie the Omen when they take toddler Damien to church and the closer they get the louder and more freaked out he gets? Sophia has been acting like that every time we shop at the Walker Walmart. Now I have personal bad feeling twords that one but who knew it would rub off onto her? She screams and kicks and throws punches and last time even bit me when we went there. Now Damien was evil and knew the church was good. I think Sissy is good and knows that the Walker walmart is sub par compared to Denham. They NEVER have enough registers open. They are smaller with less selection, and their workers are mostly rude or ignore you (in my experience). I have even reported them to 1-800-wal-mart before. I was beginning to think day time grocery shopping wasn't going to be an option for me any more. The only reason I have been shopping there is because Brooklyns school is on that same street. This morning I needed to go into Denham so I decided to go to that Walmart. Sissy was an Angel! No crying or biting or anything, I didn't even have to tell her to come to me once! Coincidence? I think not! I have decided to shield my children from the evils that are in the walker walmart and drive the extra inconvenient miles to the good Denham one.

Can you believe in one week Sissy will be 3 years old!!!!!!!!!! Time has just seemed to be in fast forward lately. For her party it was a rainbow color theme. It was also nice enough weather that the kiddos got to play in the pool. She had a blast and loved all of her presents. She can be such a sweet girl when she wants to be. She is also very stubborn which drives me crazy now but I sure hope benefits her in the future. I am looking forward to forever with her and the rest of my family!

So I have been wanting some cork boards to put in Brooklyn's room but haven't really wanted to spend the money. The other day in Mrs Murl's garage I was being nosy and noticed a cork board and a dry erase board leaned against the wall. I asked if she was getting rid of it and she was! Now we have an art center and the girls love it. I just have to decide how to decorate it!!!

Taco Spaghetti and some AWESOME Banana soft serve

Taco Spaghetti

A pound of hamburger meat cook in 1 packet taco seasoning
5 ounces cooked spaghetti noodles
chopped onion cooked in hamburger if you want
1 can drained corn
1 cup shredded cheese
3/4 cup salsa
shredded lettuce (if wanted)
chopped tomato (if wanted)
cup crushed tortilla chips (if wanted)
Whatever else you want

Cook your hamburger meat in seasoning and onion, drain grease. Add cooked noodles, corn, and salsa, 1/2 cup cheese. Pour into a lightly greased baking dish. Cover and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Add sour cream, lettuce, and whatever else you want!

Banana Soft serve

1 or 2 bananas for each person you are serving
food processor

Cut bananas into about 1/4 inch pieces. Freeze for 3-4 hours or overnight. Put into food processor until creamy. You can eat right away or freeze for later. You can add strawberries, peanut butter, cocoa powder, or whatever else you like with bananas!

Homemade detergent

1 bar grated Fels Naptha Soap

1 1/3 cup Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda Detergent Booster

1 1/3 cup 20 Mule Team Borax

Mix and store in an airtight container.

Small loads 1 spoonfull

Medium loads 1 ½ spoonful

Heavy loads 2 spoonful

Non-Abrasive scouring powder for disinfecting

4 parts baking soda

1 part borax

(store in a shaker container)

Lemon Spray Cleaner (multi-purpose)

2 cups water

2TBS lemon juice

½ tsp. dish soap (like dawn)

1TBS baking soda

1tsp. Borax

Pour in spray bottle and mix well before using. You can add vinegar but be careful! Baking soda and vinegar mixed has the volcano effect so add it REAL SLOW!

So Wednesday we Brooklyn's first day of school and Sophia's first alone, non-family babysitting experience. I was more worried with Sophia then Brooklyn but when I got to Cherie's house Sissy walked right in and told me bye. No problems there. I breathed a little. When we got to school Brooklyn was greeted by her teacher and assistant and the room Maw-Maw. She walked right in and didn't look back. It was orientation day so only 7 kids out of the 20 were going to be there (I think 4 showed up). Orientation was brutal. Everything we had been told before. After the parents were released I went in to get a picture of Brooklyn in her class. The assistant Mrs. Shelia (Mrs. Brown is the teacher and Mrs. Sue is the room Maw-Maw) was praising how detailed Brooklyn's drawing was and how she was actually TALKING some to every body. I got my picture and with a quick kiss and left. Then I went to walmart by MYSELF! When I went to pick Sissy up Cherie and I decided to go celebrate Brooklyn's first day of school with some yummy Chinese. When I picked Brooklyn up the teacher said She did very well. She laughed and said for lunch B "tried" her tuna sandwich because momma always makes her try new things, but she only ate ALL of her peas and asked for more. The Mrs. Brown was surprised because not many 4 year old eat that well! There I did find out that one of the ladies from church is the room mawmaw in the class right next to Brooklyn's so that made me feel a lot better. There were no tears on either side. This is going to be a great experience for her. I really think it is where she needs to be to get ready for kindergarten.

Today is her first day with all of the kids in the class. I am hoping it goes as well as Wednesday did. I've got a busy day. I'm delivering a cake, getting the car, inspected, maybe going to old navy, getting Brooklyn, and last going to the temple for a sealing session. I am super excited the girls are spending the night with Mrs. Murl so maybe I can sleep past 5:30!

Poor Brooklyn

Monday morning we had our enrollment meeting for Head Start. We have gotten all paper work finished and assigned a class! Brooklyn needed to get her school shots and a wellness check to be completely finished. Her Dr.'s office was able to get her in that afternoon. She is completely healthy. When it came time to do the shots she started to panic some. She had to get four of those suckers! After that they had to draw blood for a lead and iron test. The nurse thought she was going to be nice and just prick her finger. After the THIRD finger prick and still no blood she had to go through a vein in the arm. By this time Brooklyn was besides herself she was so upset. She had to get stuck 8 times before everything was done. I promised her ice cream on the way home. She survived all that. Yesterday when I went to take the band aid off her leg she had a HUGE blister full of clear liquid where the band aid had been! I'm glad shes over it. She really milked all those pricks for everything she could. This morning her teacher is coming over for a home visit. They do things a little different in head start. Most of the kids there are from lower income families and don't get the every day needs of life. Like three meals a day and clean food. I was talking to out advocate about it and she said some of these kids really do come from heart breaking situations. I am very thankful that Trent works so hard to provide us with all of our needs and most of our wants. I am now excited Brooklyn is getting such a great opportunity to be in the Head Start program. She's very excited also and is so proud of her new back pack (Thanks Mrs. Murl)

Head Start and a cupcake party

While we were decorating I got a phone call from Head Start. The lady asked if we were still interested in putting Brooklyn in I was thrown off and replied "possibly!" She sounded thrown off and responded with is that a yes or no? I laughed and told her I had thought she wasn't accepted because we hadn't heard anything from them yet. So on Monday morning we have a meeting to finish the application process. I am so torn. I don't really want to give my baby over everyday (I know I still have Sophia). Brooklyn is my quiet one that I worry about. I know she'll be fine and well taken care of, and have a blast everyday. I still worry if she will be to scared to ask to go potty (I was) or if someone is being mean to her how will she respond? There is a certain kid at church that makes her cry a lot. She doesn't really react at church but when we get in the car she's all upset. Luckily that kid doesn't come all the time and has found some other victims to pick on. Maybe I am more worried then I should be because she wont be here to entertain Sophia! Some days that can be a big job in itself! I wonder if I would be so worried if we had found out in June or July she was accepted and I had a little more time to emotionally plan for the "hand-over"? I am relieved they don't have to wear uniforms so I at least don't have to think about that.

Happy Birthday Jackson!!!! He is one of Brooklyn's best friends and his birthday was on the 9th. Brooklyn wanted to do something for him so we made some cupcakes. All the kids had a great time decorating them and Chere and I had a good time eating them! They had such a good time I think I might have a "cupcake center" outside for the kids to create their own at Brooklyn's birthday. Then I'll just do maybe a 6 or 8 inch cake for the candles to go on. I know I have plenty of time to think about it but it's an idea.

I'm so bummed. Right now I want to be organizing my patterns, but I'm not. Instead I am mindlessly surfing the internet because My back is REALLY REALLY hurting. Funny thing is I have no idea what I did at church for it to hurt like this. I was fine one minute, the next sharp pains. I also think I need to get my eyes checked. I am having a hard time focusing lately. Lets see what insurance covers first.

Aunt Martha's Mexican Cornbread Casserole

2 lbs hamburger
2 cans whole corn drained
2 cans kidney beans drained
2 packages taco seasoning
1 small can tomato sauce
shredded cheese
Mexican cornbread mix

Brown meat, add taco seasoning
Then stir in corn, beans, and tomato sauce
Place in 9*13 casserole dish
Mix cornbread according to the directions and spoon on top of meat mixture
Bake at 375 until cornbread is done.
Sprinkle cheese on top.

This recipe will feed a small army. Next time I make I am going to half everything and bake it in a 9*9 dish.

Sunday Brooklyn was playing in the gym at church and tripped, and landed funny on her head/neck. She wasn't crying or anything she just said her neck hurt. When we got home she laid down and napped some. The rest of the night she stayed really still crying every time she moved her neck or someone jarred her. Monday morning when she woke up she couldn't even get herself out of bed her neck hurt so bad. So off to the Dr we went. Dr. Gesn didn't see and external swelling or bruising so off to get some x-rays taken. They x-ray did not show anything wrong with her vertebrate but it did have a dark spot on the the radiologist was going to check out for us. The x-ray did show some internal swelling from an internal bruise. I have to give her regular ibuprofen every six hours for a week, keep her as quiet as possible and keep her from favoring one side of her neck. When we were leaving the Dr.'s office Gesn said someone would call after the x-ray was looked at further. Not even 20 minutes later Dr. Gesn herself called me to tell me the dark spot was fine it was just some bruising. What a relief that was to hear! That is one of the many reasons I love that Dr. She really does care about my kiddos. Brooklyn woke up this morning feeling as good as gold but I still have to keep her as quiet as I can so the swelling and bruising inside can go down. So no water play today. Just a quiet movie day.

Lemon Pecan Pie

!/3 stick margerine (I used butter and it worked fine)
3 eggs
3/4 cups chopped pecans
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp lemon flavoring
1 tbsp lemon zest and 3 tbsp lemon juice
1 unbaked pie shell (I used the cheap-o walmart brand)

Mix all ingrediants together and pour into pie shell. Bake at 400 degress for 10 minutes. Then bake 325 degrees for about 40 minutes.

From this morning till the after noon it has been one thing after another. While we were grocery shopping this morning Sissy had to go potty. Mad dash to the bathroom, no accidents. We get into a stall and I go to pull her pants off. I thought they wee all the way off and when I lift her up on the potty in the toilet fall her shorts and a shoe! Sigh. The trip continues and we get home to finish the birthday cake I had been working on. It looked great. On my way to deliver it a car almost pulls out in front of me. I slam on my breaks and turn the wheel to avoid an accident. We are okay, the car is okay, the cake, not so much. It broke in two. I get to the house it was going to and luckily L.W. is there and quickly makes some very yummy cream cheese frosting while I start putting the cake back together. It turned out pretty cute. LW kept telling me it was at least! I guess it is one of those "it is what it is" situations.

Some days I feel as if I am in a movie. Sometimes it's a comedy. Sometimes a drama. We have the occasional action flick. You know typical stuff. Well today I feel like I was like a scene from an older movie.
Setting: The bathroom
Character: Sophia
Props: A lot of Shit

Scene setting: Brooklyn and Sophia are playing chase and Sophia runs into the bathroom and locks the door. After a few minutes I go and unlock the door to find poo smeared everywhere!

It was seriously like dumb and dumber without the chocolate. I can even imagine Bob Saggot standing there saying "There is shit everywhere!!!"

Sophia I know you want to be independent and do it yourself, but next time ask.

So this isn't the best picture of me but it does (to me at least) show that I have lost a little weight. i was down 18 pounds but not taking that prescription any more I have gained back 4 pounds! I knew it would happen so I am not totally bummed but it is time to get serious again and lose what I gained.

I have decided to start learning to make more things at home. I have been wanting to try tortillas. It was super easy to do and Brooklyn loved being able to help. They were so good in the honey lime enchiladas I made for supper. Both things I will be making again! The tortillas were so good I put a little honey on them and we even had them for a snack!

We went and tried the new restaurant Crounching Dragon. Seriously people go there! It was so good and at a really good price too. Notice Sissy eating her broccoli?

Nothing to exciting this week has happened. I have almost bought everything to start cooking for Justin's reception. I am almost done with the girls dresses for it. And I bought a new cleaner that was so awesome I will be buying it in bulk!

This year for fathers day I thought I would decorate a little. I made this cute tie wreath and this happy fathers day banner. I think Jessie should make the banner and sell in her etsy shop next year! I bet they would sell like hot cakes. I might have time to make a few more things, we'll see.

This morning I was doing something. The kids were doing something diffrent. Then Brooklyn walks up to me and said something and walked away. Then I thought "hm did that really just happen?" And I laughed so hard I almost peed myself. Sad thing is I don't remember what it was that was said or happened! I should write this stuff down.

So I have been trying different dress patterns for the girls for Justin's wedding. This is another one I made. I did both girls dresses slightly different. They are in love with the cat fabric from momma and the fact it twirls so well. I have decided to smock the girls dresses and I am thinking instead of using a traditional smocked dress pattern I might use this pattern and the top "cuff" will be what is smocked. I have been working on some 4th of July smocking I am going to sew up in this pattern to see how I like it. Maybe we can vote on which style is cuter.

I would also like to report I weighed myself the other day at 150!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm down 17 pounds since February. I am no longer going to the weight loss clinic so the last 5 are all on me. I am slightly nervous about these last five but I think I am up to the challenge. It is nice that my clothes fit me now! I still want to go shopping eventually. Maybe after these last 5 are gone, we'll see. I always say I want to go shopping but never buy anything when I do, even when someone is with me!

This morning I cleaned the garage. I threw away a bunch of unneeded, in the way, stuff and rearranged a few other things. When I was done sweeping it out I decided to vacuum it! Our shop vac has a wide brush so it didn't take long. It was kind of sad to pull the Xterra back in! I worked in their about two hours and when I was done I looked like I had just entered a wet t shirt contest. I started at 7:30 this morning and it was that hot already. When I got inside and shower I tackled the laundry room. It just needed to be straightened up some and have some holiday things put back into the attic. Then I moved onto organizing the bills better, then back to Sissy's closet where my sewing stuff is. Then I turned some blue vinyl table cloths into seat covers for out table. They are pretty awesome. I'll show some pictures of them later.

At one point I went to check on the girls. Brooklyn was getting Sissy ready for school. They had their school set up in the kitchen. It was to cute.

Brooklyn's gymnastics program

This past Tuesday was Brooklyn's gymnastics program. She was really excited and nervous for it. She has been working hard in class and practicing at home. She did very well for the organized part of the program. Once he kids did everything in their station they got 30 minutes to just run around and show off what they have learned. Sophia got to play around too. Brooklyn loves the balance beam the most so she kept going back to that. She also would pull herself up on the bar. In the end she was even doing flips by herself on the bar! Depending on if she gets into head start or not we might put her and Sophia in leaps and bounds in August. If she is in school I think it might be to much to have her in both. With the way Sophia takes to everything we defiantly want her to have the same opportunity to do gymnastics or something until she starts school.

I have been teaching myself how to smock patterns! I also just learned how to do the bullion rose! I am almost done with the girls fourth of July smocked inserts for their dresses. I can't wait to post pictures. When I get more smocking needles to pleat more rows I am going to start on their dresses for Justin's wedding. I am so excited to be able to do more then diamonds!

The beginning of this week I randomly thought "I need to grill Friday. I should call Melissa". So I called and they came over. Friday morning I realized it was Memorial day weekend, so even better. I ended up grilling LSU Burgers (that's seriously the brand), and corn. The corn came out pretty awesome. I partially shucked it and got most of the silk off. Then I recovered it in the husks and soaked it in cool water for like 20 minutes or so. When the charcoal was ready I placed it on the grill next to the burgers and closed the lid. With the husks being wet the steamed the corn. Let me say it was awesome! Brooklyn ate two huge pieces herself and Saturday asked if we had anymore! We also had an oreo cake that was beyond awesome! Everyone ate more then 1 piece. After supper the kiddo went outside to play in the water. Beryl gave us some clothes for Brooklyn and in that bag were two swimsuit, Sophia has decided that all of Brooklyn's swimsuits are way better then hers. That is why the ones in the ones in the picture are falling off of her. On Saturday she got so aggravated pulling up the bottoms she ended up naked. Anyways back to Friday. The kids played so well together. The girls just love to play with Garret. They talked about him all Friday wondering how much longer till he got there. When it was getting dark and the kids came in to get dressed they went back to Brooklyn's room and shut the door. It was so quiet I went to peek in on them. They were playing primary! My girls love to take turns saying the prayer and Brooklyn will conduct Sophia in singing time. It is so cute. I shut the door and let them play. Later Garret and Sophia ended up in Sophia's room. I kept hearing from her "Come on Garret you can sleep in my bed." The tv was on and I think she was trying to get him to come lay down and watch with her. It really was to funny. Saturday after nap the girls ended up back in the pool where sis kept watering the plants and eventually ended up in the nude on the swing set! It has certainly been a fun weekend..... So far.
Sunday at church the kids are playing guess who in primary. Trent was asked to be the mystery person so Saturday night I remembered and went to work on his costume. He is supposed to be King Abraham. With remembering last minute I worked with what I had. I think it turned out pretty good. I wonder if the kids will even come close to guessing!
This past week I have been working more on my smocking stitches. I have no idea why it has taken me almost 5 years to do more then the basic diamond. But I now know how to do basic pictures, basic letters, and the bullion stitch. I am so excited about the bullion stitch because you can make the cutest flowers with them. My favorite style of smocked dress for my girls size is the basic square yoke (with the cute collar) but my pattern only goes up to a five which is to small for Brooklyn. I need to now sit down and figure out how to make that pattern bigger so I can smock away for her. I can't really do to much of that until I get some more needles for the pleater. They are a little pricey as needles go so now that I'm not doing extra jobs anymore they need to be budgeted in. I'll definitely have them by Justin's wedding. I'm going to make the girls the most precious smocked dresses. On the smocked part I am going to do the word LOVE all fancy and do cute bullion roses around it. I saw it in a picture and it was perfect. Hobby Lobby even has this kind of off white and dusty rose fabric with flowers on it that will be perfect. I can't wait to get started on them!

Most of these pictures are from mother day. The girls went to their first crawfish boil at my MIL's house. They weren't really impressed with the crawfish. They were a little freaked out. I couldn't get either of them to try one. They did enjoy playing outside and running the show! I enjoyed every bite! We should do that more often.

So I wanted to post like a million times last week, but never found time to so I'm skipping it and starting fresh today. Well I'll go back to friday. I weighed myself at 154!!! Down 13 lbs total and I have lost 1.5 inches in my waist. I am very excited about this. It's how much I weighed when Trent and I got married! I think I am still in a little disbelief. It has taken my 2.5 years to loose and weight no matter what I did and now that I am its hard to grasp. I still at times feel very uncomfortable with myself. I have always felt like that so its probably something I am going to feel off and on forever. I am very proud that I can say Ive been married 5+ years, have two kids, and I weigh almost 15 lbs less then high school! Not many can have that to brag about. Well maybe not brag but I am extremely happy about it.
I don't have an end weight set as a goal but I do want to loose 4 more lbs before my next dr appointment in the first week of June.

As of Wednesday of last week Sophia ran out of diapers and has been in panties. Shes done extremely well waking up dry in the mornings and after naps. Shes not had to many accidents. I think in no time she'll be going on her own all the time. I think in my dream last night I kept saying "do you have to potty?, Let me know if you do" I was a very annoying broken record! But what we are doing seems to work so I'm going to keep it up!

The easiest skirt ever tutorial for jessie

This is the same style of skirt just with a cuff and belt. I made the cupcake shirt with coordinating fabrics to match. Brooklyn wears it all the time. It took me start to finish 20 minutes with the girls interrupting.

First you'll need a rectangular piece of fabric what ever length you want. Brooklyn's is 14 in and Sophia's is 10 in. That was literally all of that fabric i had left over from another project.

Serge the only seam together. That will be your back seam. Serge around top and bottom.

Fold top over the width of you elastic-sew-add elastic. Hymn bottom. Press if you want. If you want the skirt to be fuller just use two rectangles. I keep each piece as wide and the width of the fabric.

So yesterday I went to the nutritionist. I have lost 8lbs with them in four weeks (11total). I am very excited with a renewed since of maybe being able to accomplish my weight loss goal. 1 more lb and I'll weight what I did when Trent and I got married.
We have been putting the lock back on sissy's door at night. Surprisingly she hasn't been getting up at night and has been sleeping in till 6! I know don't be jealous.

So this morning I tried to put Sis in panties. She screamed and hollered and carried on like a crazy person! When my mom stopped by to bring Brooklyn back she put Sis in panties. Sis thought it was great. Three accidents later, not so much. The third time she went into the bathroom, locked the door, then peed on the floor. Almost I know. While I was cleaning that up she got out a diaper, laid on the floor and put it on herself! So I am thinking we'll just wait a little longer till there are no more diapers in the house! I think we have maybe two weeks of diapers left. I am ready for this battle with Sis. She's so stubborn though I know it will be on her time and her terms when she starts using the potty.

On a completely different note tomorrow I have my one month follow up at the nutritionist office. According to my scale I have lost 8lbs this past 4 weeks. That puts me to 11lbs total! I hope I can keep up the 2 lbs a week. If so I'll reach my goal by the beginning/middle of June.

We had a good Easter. I hope everyone else did too. We hunted eggs inside, went to church, then supper at in laws. The girls were pretty well behaved all day so that was an added bonus. I got to sit through all of sacrament (except when sis hit her head but we were able to come back in). I didn't have time to smock the girls dresses so my lovely sis Jessie sent me the peeps from her etsy shop. They turned out super cute on their halter tops I made. Both the shirts only cost me $2.75 to make! The added bonus was we had a bandaid for Sophia that matched everything well!

It was bring a friend day at gymnastics. Sophia went in with Brooklyn and did very very well. She participated in everything and the teacher never had to fuss for her to listen.

This morning Sis was walking with her head down (as always) and ran right into the door! She didn't cry or anything. I didn't realize it was bleeding till a little later when Brooklyn saw it and started freaking out. She only got upset when I put a band aide on it. I guess I'll have to find a cute band aide for Easter tomorrow!

I am also extremely excited to say that in March I weighed 167. When I went to the professional weight loss clinic I weighed 164. This morning (3 weeks) I weigh 158!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's 6 with the clinics help and 9 total so far! You can't really tell by looking at me yet but I can tell by how my cloths fit. I'm not dying in my skirts at church and I don't have to suck in as much to button my pants!

On march 24th I ordered a hose attachment and jar sealer from Foodsaver.com for $20.49. I waited and waited and it never came. I called them today to find out what was going on. One of the products I ordered had been canceled! So for my troubles they reordered both items. They only charged me $3 for the attachment hose! The jar sealer and shipping are free for my troubles! That made my day and what a great company and customer service! They are even going to ship them separate so I can go ahead and get the hose. The jar sealer in on back order so it might take up to two or three weeks to get. That gives me plenty of time to get mason jars. Again part of Mays money saving madness I am going to go to some places like good will and see if i can find any jars. As long as you use new lids to seal the jars it doesn't matter if the jars have been used before or not!

You might be wondering why this product is on here. It's because I was so impressed with it. For May we are doing a money saving maddness and I want to have a list of some money saving products. This bathroom cleaner was bought at the Dollar Tree. I kind of laughed when I saw it. I thought "if it has to say it's LA's TOTALLY AWESOME" it can't really be that great right?! Well let me tell you when I cleaned my shower this morning it turned out to be the BEST bathroom cleaner I have ever used! And I think I have used them ALL trying to find one that actually cleans. Not only did it clean great it cleaned the left over residue from previous cleaners! I think I am stocking up on this product. The only negative I can see is it has a strong smell (it goes away VERY quickly) so while you're doing the actual cleaning I would keep small kids and pets out of the bathroom. Now price wise it is a great deal. The bathroom cleaners at Walmart range from $1.97-$3.48. And most of them don't give you as much cleaner!

Sometimes I am over whelmed by my awesomeness. I mean I try to be awesome everyday but today I feel like I really hit the nail on the head. I was an awesome babysitter with no major fights and everyone's diaper clean all morning, AND the kids even cleaned the room with no complaints! I then took my awesomeness to the dollar tree to pick up a few things. In May for relief society we are going to be talking about saving money (and making laundry detergent). So at the dollar tree I bought some thing I normally wouldn't buy there. Then I went to Walmart to compare some of the prices. In my awesomeness at Walmart I even bought Trent some new socks! Anyways by buying the few things I bought at the dollar tree I saved myself $7!!!!!!!!!!!! That was on four items. At Walmart I also found some drawer organizers and cleaned out the catch all drawers. In relief society enrichment we are going to have a craft corner every month where people can show easy, cheap, super cute crafts to make our homes and our lives easier. This month I made this awesome wreath for the door. It didn't even cost me FIVE BUCKS!!!!!!!!! The wreath was from michaels for $2, the ribbon dollar tree, the bunny dollar tree and the plastic eggs I had. So now my awesomeness is needed to play tic tac toe with Brooklyn.

The professional weight loss clinic

So yesterday I had an appointment at the clinic with a nutritionist. I went in got my height/ weight checked. Was given a kind of cheesy cookbook and was told to sit and wait for the Dr. The girls were with me and being fairly good so that was nice and i didn't have to wait long. The funny thing is there were more men then women waiting!! So anyways I get in to see the Dr and he immediately starts talking about writing me a prescription for an appetite suppressant. WTF! (excuse the language). I told him I don't over eat and I am very active but haven't been able to loose anything since Sophia was born. I brought him a copy of some of my food journal so he could tell me where I need to improve. I need more protein and less carbohydrates. They are probably very helpful for some people but not so much for me. If I hadn't been prepared with my own questions I wold have been sent out the door empty handed.

Wednesday night the BYU pep band and cheerleaders were at our church building doing a show for us. They were pretty awesome. We got to sit right in the front on the floor so me and the girls had the perfect veiw. Brooklyn was so nervous of the cheerleaders but on the way home she talked non stop about being a cheerleader when shes in school. Now she wants an outfit and keeps working on her flips. Shes even more excited about gymnastics to tell her teacher about them.

This is going to be my first and last square wedding cake. The corners weren't a problem. It was EVERYTHING ELSE!!!! All I can say is I hope they like it. I kinda did a few things different then me and the brides friend talked about. I put the B on the top instead of side and I added the dark purple band around the bottom. I will think it turned out beautiful after I take a breath and relax some. Wedding cakes are stressful!!!

First I would like to say that Trent and I have decided because of the economy we are going to take our house off the market for awhile. We don't want to loose money by giving away the house. Right now things aren't selling.

Secondly the girls got new bedding (and sissy a new bed). I love all of it. The sets are super adorableness. Sissy also loves her new bed. I'll post some pics when I can get them to clean their rooms!

Thirdly I am in a little weight loss competition with someone else. Our ending date is in july. Loser buys winner supper. I hope I can close to the goal weight. I have been trying to loose weight since Sophia was born but nothing yet. I think I am going to do the slim fast program. Well try it at least.

I've got more to say but it will have to be later. I need to get a cake out of the oven.

m first square cake

On March 20th I have a wedding cake, and it's square. I have never done fondant on a square cake without momma so I figured I needed to practice. Not to shabby for a first try. Now this was just for a play date and done some what in a rush so I didn't do a frosting damn. Now I have frosting bulge. Don't you hate it when that happens! I guess even when I am in a rush a frosting damn is needed.

So sweet dreams do not get to stick with me for very long. Sophia is up at night again. We have decided to separate the girls again. I'm a little sad because I liked the thought of them sharing and having one another at night, but not when Sophia is up all hours of the night making noise and messing with Brooklyn. I used to love when jessie would let me sleep in her bed and when we would talk and giggle till we fell asleep. Tonight she gets a pallet on the floor in the lavender room till we get the youth bed from my dad this weekend. Hopefully this will help both of them sleep better so we can have some better mornings.

So Sophia has had a cough for like 3 weeks and this morning she was coughing so hard she almost threw up. I get to the dr's office and find out on top of her cough she had an ear infection. No fever, has never pulled on her ear or made out like it was bothering her. So now she has had no nap, and is so tired and cranky. Bed time is coming early that girl. While we were at walmart I let her pick out some new underware. I think while Brooklyn is gone I am going to start 100% panties on Sophia. Give her a few days to adjust. Anyways out of all the underware there she picked little boys nickelodeon characters! Lets hope it goes well for all of us.

todays jury duty adventure

So today I had jury duty. I went in at 12:30 and there was already a line of people to get in. At one we were led into a big room where we were checked in and the waited and waited. I was sitting in the front row and was by some really nice and chatty people. One guy was a manager at little ceaser and gave me some coupons for free cheesy bread and some little lc bracelets for the girls. The lady I was next to is a private investigator! How cool is that? Anyways by 3:15 the judge finally came in and read her spill about who can be a juror etc, etc. Then she told us if anyone has a hardship and can not serve on the jury to please come forward. So I lined up in between two other stay at home moms. All three of us were excused without prejudice. I hated to get out of the jury, it would be a very interesting experience. For me it just wasn't working out fr a babysitter this go around. Maybe next time! Thanks Mrs. Murl for wrangling the kids all day!

This morning i was looking at one of my favorite sewing blogs call "sewing in no mans land" She had this adorable pattern on it. I had some left over SAINTS gear and thought I would whip something up for next football season. The pattern was size 2-18months or 4/5. Probably by August Sophia will be in a 4. Brooklyn, as you can tell by the butt shot, is outgrowing 5's. I am thinking I can add some length to the crotch and make her one to fit too. I haven't made anything since we put out house on the market 4 weeks ago so it was fun to pull out the sewing machine. Now I still have the task of putting everything up! I am thinking for this outfit instead of a tie neck I am going to find some sort of elastic so when Sophia is potty training it won't be an issue. to pee or not to pee

To pee or not to pee? Now that's a big question. Sophia is telling me all the time before she poops that she needs to. She is also bringing me diapers and wipes and will lay herself down. I am thinking it's time to potty train her. I had wanted to wait till it warmed up a bit so she could run with no pants on. So now I wonder should I wait a little longer and go ahead and buy another box of diapers of should I just go ahead with the panties? Its going to be all or nothing when we potty train her.

yesterdays open house was a drag. NO ONE came. Did you see the weather though? I wouldn't have went to one either. Today makes 3 weeks on the market and we are finally in the real estate magazine! Just remember patience is a virtue!

early bed time

So at 5:30 tonight I had pretty much had it and put the girls in their bed. It's 6:30 and sissy is screaming at me but I am ignoring her. They were up late late last night and are like crazy people. I have finished scrubbing down the house and am trying to relax a little before I go crazy. Doesn't the cheesecake look yummy? It's for a reunion tomorrow.

O.K. So everyone keeps reminding me its not the end of the world if our house doesn't sell. I know I know. Its just that until that's decided our life is on hold with being able to really live in our house. I;m just ready for everything to be final one way or another. It's not so easy cleaning everyday just in case the Realtor calls!

On a completely different note we have taken juice completely out of the house. Sophia had some crazy fits at first but is doing much better with just water (and occasionally some dr. pepper). I am ready to start potty training her but couldn't do it until she wasn't sipping on juice through out the WHOLE day! I think in February we will start the 3 day method and hope it is as successful with sis as it was with Brooklyn.

This is the house that we have picked to build whenever we sell our house. Beautiful isn't it? Now you know why we are trying so hard to sell our house. Now we have been on the market for 14 days with nothing. Not even a nibble from the open houses! I am (of course) stressed out. My left eye is twitching and my stomach aches when I think about what happens if we can't sell. Nothing happens. We stay here unpack our family pictures and feel trapped. We have our hearts set on this new house it would be so sad if we weren't able to move up. I'm even looking forward to the time we stay with the in laws for the in between time. I am looking forward to more space and being 1.4 miles from the elementary school (galvez primary) and 1 mile from the middle (galvez middle). I am looking forward to having space to have more then one friend over at a time and possibly a small lake behind us depending on which lot we pick. So everyone say a prayer we sell soon so we can move on to the next phase of our lives. And dont worry my d.s. friends we are only going to be like 20 minutes away!

I was talking to Jessie on the phone today about her word for the year. She has decided her word is courage. She wants to be less shy and do things she has or would not have attempted before. I thought to myself Jessie is one of the most courageous people I know and she thinks she needs MORE! She walks into a room and the heavens open and angles play trumpets and a light shines down on her! Seriously, well at least that's what I see when Jessie walks into a room. It got me thinking what was my word this year. It didn't take me long to decide: CHANGE.

I am already going through a major change. Our house is for sell. We want to move to the Galvez area. Not to far away. Now we like Denham Springs and we love the friends we have made but we have never really felt like this was going to be our forever home. So our beautiful house is for sale and I am bugging my Realtor all the time. Hopefully we can move into the next part of our lives.

I'll tell you more of the changes I have in mind a little here and a little there but for now does someone want to buy my bowflex?!

My Jazzybug

Today was Brooklyns first dance program. She was so excited, I was so proud. Her class is called the Jazzybugs. They range in age of 3-5. B is the oldest at 4 the rest will be 4 soon. She loves it and i love taking her. All of the little girls in her class are so sweet and the moms are super nice. Her teacher ms. Terry is great with the girls! Brooklyn loves to practice and always talks about her dance friends. veryone has signed up for next semester so it should be just as much fun! I am really looking forward to seeing her grow in her dance abilities the next few months.

Jasons Visit

Jason came down for an unexpected visit. We didnt get to spend much time with him. Maybe if he can come this summer with Morgan they can spend a few nights. We had a good time anyways. We ate some Canes with the family and then just kind of hung out. Traffic was aweful on the way to the airport. It seemed like we would never get there. I got him there on time with a few minutes to spare. I hope this summer we will have a little more time together.
